Meeting girls in a cafe?

Quick background information: im 18. I go to a community college (for now). and im currently looking for a job (not have yet). in other words my days usually consist of going to college or be at home. I really have nothing to do. of Anyway, there are no girls in college at all interesting, and I'm not exegeratting either. how many fish there as 0. but i really dont have anywhere place to go. I was thinking of going to a coffee and spend time there may be. Is this a good idea? people go to meet other people? i would just look desperate, so everyone is hanging out with other people while im alone? when is best to go: evening or morning and evening are probably thinking Im the best? Again, would it look desperate, what are the thoughts of girls to see a guy alone in a cafe or should I bring a book with me to pretend I have a reason to be there? ugh im being really nervous about this

grab your laptop and do your job at the cafe. When someone walks in attractive give it a glance and a smile when she sees you ... and there you go. If it seems the least interested say hello and introduce yourself. Really easy.
