Where’s best to take an architecture student on holiday?

Hi guys. I’m hoping to surprise my boyfriend with a short (4-ish days) break in Europe in January but I need ideas for where. We’re both students, so I’m trying to find somewhere fairly cheap, maybe book tickets from ryanair or easyjet. He studies architecture so I’d like somewhere he’d find interesting, but also somewhere fairly romantic. I’m a bit clueless and looking for inspiration, hope you can help!

Southern europe!!
More specifically:
1 Greece! they have tons of architectural buildings- thats where architecture was born- you could go anywhere in the country and your pretty much guaranteed architecture- go to the acropolis -the islands have tons of structures- naxos- santorinini, plus its romantic too and has great beaches- 2 of the seven wonders of the world are located here-another 3 that they build are abroad- its also quite cheap other than athens- for architecture, history, culture, beaches and party islands (Mykonos!), greece is far ahead of the pack.

2 Western turkey or Cyprus both have many ancient greek buildings including 2 of the 7 wonders of the world, and the ancient city of troy and constantinople

3 Italy has lots of architecture, they build it all with help from their neighboors (greece) – rome has great sights- venice, and so many more!

3 Old Nice in southern france has great architecture ,aswell as the whole surrounding area.although its more expensive.

4 barcelona and madrid, the only ones i list without having been there, i hear it has great sights too and i would like to go- you should look into it,

5 Czech republic- prague has many many sights i spend 3 months there its great. has many old buildings, churches, clocks, squares, city centers, wich is full of pubs and eateries, and cukrarnas (literaly meaning ‘sugar house’). the best dessert there thuoght would have to be pribinacek you can find it in any grocery store, its addictive.
